Good thing there are coffeeshops wherein its not so weird hanging there alone. Just have your fave drink, grab a good book or a laptop to type your musings, time can fly fast. You wouldn't feel so alone and cold anymore. Fortunately, there are a lot of emerging "hangouts for lonesome" like me here. But in other countries, I've heard that a lot of them are closing. Yes, there are a lot of coffee drinkers in this world. But they are not enough to keep this business going. Unlike our country, where people are 24/7 awake because of their call center jobs & late night outs, people are mostly in the shelter of their homes before 7pm and leaving the coffeeshops, customer-free. They have no other recourse but to shutdown operations before they totally lose investments for their businesses.
I just do hope, things wont go as far as closing down here too. These shops has been important part of our lives one way or another -- capping a great night out with a date, reviewing for a licensure exam, catching up with good old friends, holding business meetings, and keeping me company on a lonely rainy saturday afternoon.
