The Only Thing That is Permanent is Change

So, I've been away from this part of me for quite a while now. Sorry blog.  I didn't have time to put words on how I feel or what I've been doing. It's been a crazy-busy transition from 2015 to 2016 for my family of three. The entire 2016 wouldn't be any different too. And I think even the people around us have their own major changes too. It's quite overwhelming just thinking about all of them.

Talking about Mortality

Our conversation started with,

"Did you play with your Mom and Dad when you were a kid?".

She has always been curious of the past. I said,

"Not really. But I played a lot with my cousins. We all live in a very big house with all my cousins, aunts and uncles." I said something like that.

"I don't want to be a grown up."

"but why?"

"I don't want you getting old." , she said a little bit serious this time.

Aaawww. How sweet. Then I asked her to repeat on camera this time so that I can show my hubby who was at work at that time.

Now rather upset, "No. I will not talk anymore."

I insisted until she finally said,

"I don't want you dying." And now she's almost crying like she's very upset, angry and frustrated.

Huh?! Where did that idea come from? The timing couldn't be better, it was a day after we remembered the dead.

I think she's too young to really understand the concept of death if we talk about it now. I'm a bit uncomfortable discussing it with her or to anyone too since I think talking about it makes it real --which scares me. But I guess it's time.

I told her that everybody will grow old and eventually die and go back to Jesus. (She knows that part since she was aware already when she lost her greatgrandma 2 years ago.) We will be sad and miss those who go before us. But we will be alright eventually. We just have to make happy memories with everybody so that when they go back to Jesus, we will have nice memories of them. But she is really upset that Mommy and Daddy is part of everybody so she doesn't want to grow up nor want us growing old. I gave her lots of hugs and kisses and reassured her that I will live as long as I can to be with her. I then distracted her with more fun games and toys so as she will not worry anymore.

Having this discussion with her made me realize of our mortality. It really scares me that I always dismiss this thought. In my head, I will live as long as my own little family will  live and that we will all live in this happily ever after with no ending. But reality is, we will all go back home to our Creator and some people will be left behind. It is a sad reality that everybody will go through at some point. Even if I pray  and wish and pray and wish and pray and wish some more,  that it will never happen to me or to her, at some point whether it is a family member or a friend or an acquaintance, it will happen . (blank thoughts. blank thoughts. and more blank thoughts,)

Oh Lord, please give us strength for whatever it is that will come our way, make us appreciate what we have now and guide us to do what pleases You  and to live without regrets.

Christmas Story, Our Story

Life has not been very kind to us lately. Things are not going as we have planned and imagined that we begin to lose sight of our goals. We are starting to not try anymore. Then, something brings us back to our senses...

While staring at our handmade First Christmas scene, our little one said:
"(that's) Baby Jesus, Mama Mary, Papa 'seph."
"same Baby Jesus", then she points to herself
"same Mama Mary", then points to me.
"same Papa 'seph", then points faraway referring to her dad who was at work.

It was exactly what we/I needed.

Christmas is about Christ Child who was born to show us how to live --- in faith, hope and love.
Faith that God will see us through whatever storms we are now facing.
Hope that everything will be in the right and better place.
Love, above all, is the driving force to keep us moving on.

Thank you, Sweetheart for giving us joy and hope when we need it most. We are so blessed to have you.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Of Pains and Active Toddler

It all started when my little one fell and bumped her knees to the ground. She shoved her dad away when daddy was about to pick her up. She was always like this -- brave, strong and independent. She doesn't want any help from us specially when she hurts herself. Nothing significant after that incident. She went on playing and running again.

The very next day, the little one complained of pain on her right knee. She was also limping while she walks. I was worried. She would opt to walk on her knees as bearing weight on her leg, I assume, was really painful. There were no bruise, swelling or clicking today and the day before. So I wonder what could it be that she is partially (and temporarily) unable to do things the same way as before. A little ointment relieved her of the pain and was able to walk (and run) again that afternoon. Thank God, she is alright.

The following  day (her 23rd month), she was again complaining of pain and limping.  Any parent wouldn't want their child getting hurt. You could only imagine my heartbreaking everytime I hear her say "aaawwweee knee". I wanted to go back in time so that I could prevent her from falling the other day. I wish I had put on ice and did a first aid right away even if she seemed okay. I wanted to bring her to hospital and do MRI just to be 100% sure it was nothing serious. (Then all my former patients and their parents (as pediatric physical therapist) flashed before my eyes. Now I understand how it must hurt, disappoint, feel frustrated, and kill every inch of their bone to see their child in pain and probably be specially abled for life. Yes, I'm overreacting. My child has only sprained her knee incomparable for a lifelong disability of my patients.) It was just a sprain and I was overthinking.

I just feel so bad that I can't do anything RIGHT AWAY to make my little one feel better. I'm disappointed that I am knowledgeable about first aid, sprains, and all sorts of medical stuff but then my little one feels pain.

I guess I expect too much and being hard on myself. Every growing and active child will go through some sort of playing minor accident that parents should not fuss about.

Thank God my child is alright now. Thank God for this realization and wake up call (to be more careful). Thank God for the strength He gives to parents watching their child grow, get hurt and be well again.

7-8-9

A facebook status post that caught my attention last Sunday:

7-8-9... 7 hours of sleep, 8 hours of work and 9 hours to do everything and anything else.
This came from a priests homily.

It makes perfect sense. Even if you interchange the hours/ time spent on the tasks. One can't argue or complain that he has no time to do other things. Specially for a stay at home like me. 7 hours of sleep is more than enough to recharge me. 8 straight hours of taking care of the baby and the house would do. And the remaining 9 hours for all the 'Me time', 'date night' with the hubby and all the other things I've been wanting to accomplish is possible. But apparently, it seems difficult or rather impossible to be able to do all these grown up responsibilities in this 7-8-9 thing. Maybe I'm too distracted with non-sense things that is taking up most of my 24 hour deadline.

I should make better schedules and stick to them (to the dot). Time management and prioritization is the key.

Remind me this 7-8-9 thing again when I complain I don't have time to even brush my hair.

Love is Fun: Keeping Love in Lent

“I’m participating in the Keeping LOVE in LENT Blog Link-Up 2013, hosted by
Raising (& Teaching) Little SaintsTruly Rich Mom and Arma Dei: Equipping Catholic Families. We’ll be sharing different ways, tips, stories and real-life experiences that will help us focus on Lenten sacrifices, prayer and good deeds, and how to carry them out with LOVE instead of a GRUMBLE. Please scroll down to the end of the post to see the list of link-up entries.”

Time really flies fast when you're having fun -- and juggling keeping the house clean while taking care of a toddler. I didn't realize it's almost Ash Wednesday already 'til I got an invite from the hosts of this Keeping LOVE in LENT Blog Link-Up 2013. This means Lent is just around the corner. Lent is the preparation of the faithful through prayer, penance, alms giving, and fasting for Christ's Resurrection. Observing Lent in the 21st century might be unnecessary and a burden to others. Only those who truly love Christ and their faith/ religion will surely be "enthusiastic" during this season.

I normally do 3 things during this season:

PrayerMore time for prayer and doing Stations of the Cross. Since I am away from home during Lenten season, I do Stations of The Cross/ Visita Iglesia online. Looks like it will be like that this year too.

Fasting or reducing the amount of food eaten on normal days. Though in modern times this can be anything from internet time, smoking, or doing things you would normally like. I'll probably lessen drinking coffee (my body runs on caffeine) as my sacrifice this Lent. I'll probably suggest to hubby not to smoke too. The Lenten /Fasting season might be a better motivation for him to stop smoking and for me to stop drinking TOO MUCH COFFEE. This is good for our bodies (and our faith).

Abstinence or abstaining eating meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent.

So here's my share on how to survive the "no meat season". You can make extra servings of these and share to your neighbors.

My version of Pasta Primavera
Pasta Primavera (based on the recipe I found at the back of the box of All-Purpose cream)
Saute garlic and onions in oil then add 1 cup chicken broth (or shrimp broth since its Lent).  Bring to boil. Add thinly sliced vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, bell pepper. Simmer. Then add 1 cup evaporated milk and All-Purpose Cream. Cook until sauce thickens. Pour over cooked pasta. Top with parsley and/or basil before serving. (Maybe you can top with grated cheese when lent is over.)

My Version of Deep Fried Donuts (Sticks)

Deep Fried Donuts (from my Indonesian friend)
Just mix and make a dough from 3 cups flour, 1/2 cup oil, 1 tsp salt, 5 tbsp sugar, 6 tbsp milk powder, 2 tsp yeast (dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water), 2 medium size potato (pre-boiled and mashed). Shape the dough into rings, balls or stick (like in the picture) and deep fry them for approximately 6 minutes or until they are golden brown. You may sprinkle with sugar or choco powder before serving.

my version of the potato gratin
Potato Gratin (from Martha Stewart)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Layer 3lbs thinly sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Then combine 2 1/2 cups cream, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and pinch of nutmeg in a saucepan; bring to a simmer. Pour cream mixture into dish to just cover potatoes; cover dish with foil. Bake for 40 mins or until potatoes are tender when pierced. Remove foil and continue to bake for another 30mins or until top of gratin is golden.

It's really not as difficult to observe Lent as it seems when you hear the words Sacrifice, Fasting and Abstinence. When you do these for the ones you love (and for this particular season, love for Christ), it's just like having fun and spending a "special time" with Him.

Have a blessed and LOVEly Lenten Season!

Our First Ever Christmas: Keeping Christ in Christmas

"I’m participating in the Keeping Christ in Christmas Blog Carnival, hosted by Raising (& Teaching) Little SaintsTruly Rich Mom and Arma Dei: Equipping Catholic Families. We'll be sharing different ways, tips, stories and real-life experiences that will help us focus on Jesus as the Reason for the Christmas season. Please scroll down to the end of the post to see the list of carnival entries.”

Last year, it was only me and my baby celebrating her first Christmas as hubby was an OFW. Waking very early and bringing my then 3 month old baby to the 9 days Misa de Gallo/ Simbang Gabi was a challenge. That was a sacrifice I had to make to keep Christ in our Christmas alive. I don't want me and my baby to get caught up with the consumerism the holiday season (unintentionally, i hope) brings and forget what Christmas is really about. It is tempting to drown ourselves with material things and short-lived happiness with our current set-up. I get guilty sometimes that my then newborn has to spend the most wonderful time of the year without her dad and buy her a lot of stuff to compensate. But I have to be wiser (in spending) and be stronger in faith... For this season is not about me or my baby. It is about the birth of baby Jesus and visiting Him is the best gift we could give Him.

This year will be the first Christmas we will spend together as a family-- me, hubby and baby. And I want it to be a special one since it will be the start of our family being together every holiday season. My mind is busy combining my family's and my husband's family's holiday tradition to make our own version of Christmas tradition --and of course, to still not stray away from the true meaning of Christmas. There is so many planning going through my head --From what we will serve during Christmas dinner, when to give gifts, when to go to mass, what we do on the eve of and on Christmas day, etc. However, we are now in a country without Christmas. Boo. We still intend to celebrate this season but with full respect for the rules and beliefs of the country we are in. No decors, parties and gift giving like the ones we do back home (Philippines). We will celebrate Christ's birth in a simple and meaningful way we can -- and start our Family Christmas Tradition.

I will try to find Simbang Gabi online and watch them together with my family... Like what we will probably do if we were back home. Since we can't visit Jesus in His home, we will just bring Him in our home. There are a lot of sites streaming TV programs online. I just hope they'll include Dawn Masses. Anyway, there's this site we always visit for our daily mass.

We will include birthday cake in our Christmas Dinner menu to celebrate Jesus' birthday. I got the idea from my aunt-in-law. No birthday is ever complete without the cake. Hihi. Pansit or spaghetti will most probably be on the table too as it is a Filipino/Chinese tradition to have such during birthdays to have  long life. Christmas dinner will be Jesus' birthday party. I'll probably let my toddler make a wish as she blows the candle on the cake.

We will do a 'good deed of the year' before the 25th. It will be like the grand(est) sacrifice or deed in return for the life Jesus gave for us. This I think will be our ultimate Family Christmas tradition that we will do for the years to come. I'm thinking sending donations to the 'victors' of typhoon pablo. Or maybe send gifts for the Filipinos in prison here.

We will not forego of the Christmas carols (volume minimized of course) and gift giving with our small family and some friends.

We have put up our simple and very discreet Christmas tree and some handmade decors inside our home just to have that holiday vibe amidst this Christmas-celebration-is-unpopular-part-of-the-world. No religious items though as they are forbidden here (and we totally respect that. We don't really need relics and icons when we practice our faith anyway.)

We are watching "Baby Jesus is Born"  every night with our little one. It's another kiddie way of introducing and keeping Christ in Christmas.

Keeping Christ in our Christmas is a challenge with all the worldly things and the twisted morals (in my opinion) around us and the geographic location we are in. I just do hope that in our simple ways, my family will not forget about Christ in Christmas or in any season, no matter where we are in the world.

Let me end this post with a wonderful Yuletide carols:

Have a Happy CHRISTmas!

for natnat (in the future)

My promise to my children:

I am your parent first, your friend second. I will nag you, flip out on you, lecture you, and sometimes even drive you crazy if it is necessary because I LOVE YOU! When you understand that, I will know you are a responsible adult. You will NEVER find someone who loves, prays, cares, & worries about you more than I do!

one for you, two for me

It's interesting how life re-affirm "old" teachings.

I saw one kid trying to use the vendo machine. For some reason, the machine won't take her money. SHe can't have the juice she wanted. Some people help her by putting her money again and again in the machine. Maybe they tried for 30 times or so. The machine just kept on giving the money back. So I offered my money (thinking that she will just trade her money with mine). But she didn't.) My money went in. Yay! But the machine didn't give out any juice. Nothing. So the kid just took off without anything (and without losing any money).

So there goes my money. It was just a small amount and it didn't really matter much to me. But one lady saw everything that happened and what I did for the kid. She gave me twice as much as what I gave away. Sweet!

Truly, waht you give comes back to you. :D

far away from home

In a world were polygamy is popular but not legal and the closest thing to a family is your next bed roommate, I wonder how a married OFW can remain faithful.

OFW or Oversees Filipino Worker is the trend nowadays in the Philippines. Filipinos who are naturally smart, resourceful, hospitable and easy to work with are a big hit to foreign employers. Who wouldn’t want a subordinate that can understand you (language-wise) at a cheaper rate, right?!
So, many Pinoys, mostly from the healthcare sector fly abroad and start a career so they can give a better life to their wives and families they left behind. One of the predictable destinations is the Middle East. Aside from its good offer (free accommodation, free transportation and decent salary), no fancy certifications and tests required (e.g. IELTS, NCLEX, CGFNS, etc). All you need is your diploma, local license and a few years of related experience and you’re good to go. The major downside is, you can’t bring your family with you (unless your better half also has a job offer to the same location and you don’t mind having them harassed by very straight forward foreigners) and you have to live in a dorm like flat with only the same gender living with you for the rest of your contract there (ranging from 2 to 5 years).
So there goes the husband in a land he can live like a single man again. Y/our husband must be rejoicing right now. LOL.
So how can he remain faithful when everyone just acts like they’re back to their younger years and eyeing on anything that’s in a dress (or has a hole)?
1) Regular and may not be always communication
We are told many times that open communication is the key to any kind of relationship to last long. A regular one can also maintain, if not improved, of what you know about your partner. I believe if you don’t talk regularly with your partner you might eventually forget everything about the other and grow farther apart.
2) Birds of the same feather flock together
People who have the same likes usually go together. So if you meet people who cheat on their wives (or wives who cheat with their husband) and don’t feel guilty about it, try to stay away from them. There’s a greater chance that if you stay longer with these kind of people, it would be as easy as breathing when you cheat on your partner.
3) Omission and Lies
Remember communication? Telling your partner what happened to your day also includes who you talked to and what you talked about. Sometimes men (or women) omit certain details because they know that their partner might feel jealous or think of it differently. You think you’re just protecting the relationship by omitting details. But if the other person learns about it eventually, the “omitting part” is the same as “lying part” which I tell you doesn’t protect anything at all. So just tell everything in a manner that will not bring about any suspicion. Don’t omit anything. Don’t lie.
4) Mutual respect
Do unto others what you want others to do unto you. Respect your partner whether in his/ her privacy, decision he/she makes, or whatever it is that needs your respect and understanding. Ideally, each of you would give the same respect and understanding you gave him/her. However the case is not always like that. Just don’t expect everything will be equal. Sometimes, one has to give more than the other.
5) Creativity and Stupidity
Being in LDR should not limit you in showing how much you love your significant other. Be more creative… no matter how stupid it may seem your acts will be… to show how much you love him/her. Snail-mailed letter, an unexpected e-card, a little package sent on special occasions, sms of sweet nothings… I’m sure any kind of effort will be rewarded.
6) Friends not Lovers
Sometimes, you fall for the friend whose been there for you on the lonely nights you miss your significant other. But keep in mind, he/she is just a friend, a confidant, not a replacement for the one you are far away from. If you feel like falling for him/her, try to set a wall that will prevent you from straying away from your real partner.
7) Love Me Even If You Hate Me
There will always come a time when you just hate the other’s guts. Maybe s/he did something you didn’t like or s/he forgot to call you back or anything you just hate. Learn to understand and forgive. Learn to love even when you hate. Whether a relationship is long distance or not, love even when you hate.
8) Be A Better You
This is a good time to reinvent yourself. Whether you are the one who left or the onbe left behind. Try to become a better person. You are too far away from any judgement that might hinder you from becoming a new (and better) person.
9) You Gotta Have Faith
I’m talking about the faith in your partner that s/he will not stray. The more you THINK that he would do something “illegal”, the greater the chance he would DO something illegal. And faith in the Almighty that he will give you strength, courage and guidance that you will surpass this uneventful experience. God, I believe, will never give you anything that you can’t handle. So, believe that everything will be well in His time.

All relationship will pass through some obstacles one way or another. and distance will only be an obstacle that will break your relationship if you allow it.

On High

Whew! Thank heavens!
All friends are accounted for! Things were lost or damaged but all lives are saved and hopefully will be in high spirits soon!

Now I fully realized that I am alive and well today to give me a chance to be a better person than I was yesterday. I have no intentions of blowing it! :)

plants have feelings too

some advocate eating veggies to cease consumption of meat & dairy products. they believe animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time especially in factory farms where we get those steaks, burgers, ham, bacon, etc. and to put an end to this, we should all be vegan!

but then again... how about the plants? don't they have feelings too? hehehe.

peace. i have nothing against anyone. i just want to eat -- vegetables, pork, fish, fruits, everything edible. i just hope people, regardless of what they advocate or what they stand for... just respect each others opinions and consider how the way they treat what they consume.

my feet hurts

My sisters & I were told that you have to wear everything new for the new year. from your undies, clothes and even shoes to attract good fortune for the coming year. It will only depend on the year (see Chinese calendar or Feng shui) what color will bring you luck. Even though we are not Chinese, we follow this rule, not really for the good fortune it will bring but for the new stuff we'll get. hahaha. we just need an excuse to buy new stuff despite of the down sloping economic situation (i think!) everyone is going through.

Good thing there are a lot of sales and bargains during this time of the year. To think that we need to get two sets of everything since there's two new years that we have to celebrate, the one non-Chinese follow (Jan 1) and the one Chinese's and trying to be Chinese' New Year (Jan 26), we need to spend our money wisely. We are just going crazy moving about searching for the perfect footwear, getting that fabulous dress and that perfectly fitting undies within our budget. It's kinda hard for us to get all of those since our frame is smaller that the one-size-fits-all outfits. hehehe. my feet hurts a lot of times during this shopping spree cause i think my shoes don't have this arches that lessens the pressure on the soles of your feet. (I choose aesthetics over function most of the time, my bad.) or we just spend so much time buying and shopping. hehehe. I should just try shopping online, I guess. Oh, I think i should get my dad one too. he has no time shopping for his own boots. he needs something good for his overly worked feet.

The Best Things In Life Are Free

For the past months, I've been out of work and surviving really well. I get to spend a two-month vacation out of the country without spending as much as one would have imagined. I've seen so many places, the one's I've always dreamt of and met a lot of interesting people. One thing I learned from this trip, which confirms what i believe in, the best things in life are free! i just wish i can do this all over again with mySweetie.

Differences

My friend posted this lines, i guess this is part of Paulo Coehlo's writings. this is so true.

I was talking to a catholic priest and a young Muslim man over lunch. When the waiter came by with a tray, we all helped ourselves, except the Muslim, who was keeping the annual fast prescribed by the Koran.

When lunch was over, and people were leaving, one of the other guests couldn't resist saying: "You see how fanatical these Muslims are! I'm glad to see you Christians aren't like the."

"But we are," said the priest. "He is trying to serve God just as i am. We merely follow different laws." And he concluded: "It's a shame that people only see the differences that separate them. If you were to look with more love, you would mainly see what we have in common, then half the world's problems would be solved."

i remember mySweetie, during his days with the Muslims during their month of fasting. Muslims would actually not eat the entire day but are allowed to partake food at certain time of the day, or night. And so, other Catholics turned Muslims follow that rule to the dot. And so Catholics, like mySweetie & his co-workers, would still eat at the usual time as they used to only they do it discreetly so as not to offend the Muslims. and the (true) Muslims wouldn't mind at all. But the other Muslims (the converts) would despise & mock the Catholics for "not respecting" their religion.

Huh?!

Oh well, I think mySweetie went on telling these "converts" that they should respect our faith too as we respect theirs. I believe mysweetie was eating in his room or at a small corner so as not to disturb or distract the people praticing the Muslim ways. And I think there's nothing wrong with us, Catholics, eating today (it's the Muslims fasting this month)if we are hungry. And the last time I checked, there's nothing in the bible that says don't eat when others don't eat. ;p

Well, i just do hope people will show true respect for each others differences whether with regards to faith, race, age, or whatever. The world will be such a wonderful place to live if that happens.

Peace everyone!

Til I Met You

Being in a couple is hard. Committing, making sacrifices is hard. But if it is the right person then its easy. Looking at that person & knowing she's all you want in the world, that's the easiest thing to do. If its not like that, then she's not the one.
-marshall, how i met your mother

I used to be a non-believer of a loyal, committed relationship. I'm a bit pessimist. I just doubt that anyone, including me, could engage in such an ideal (and boring) bond. I'm no whore either. It's just that, i think, i can not find my perfect match at the age or time i want to. Let's say an average person's life span will be 80 years. Most people start getting to know another person at the age of 16, be involved with someone seriously by the age of 22 and get married at age 27. So between those years, how sure are you that the person you chose to be with is the right one for you? You're not even sure who that person is even when you get married. Within that 20++ years of living, im sure you haven't met all the people you could ever meet in your entire lifetime. There are a million guys to choose from, our country alone has 80++million people and probably 1/4 to 1/5 of that population are legitimate guys. How much more for other larger countries?! So, what are the chances for the next (80-27=)53 years you meet the ultimate perfect partner for you?

Then when you thought that you had chosen "the one", it turns out to be not "the one" at all. Its either he ignores you when he receives his midyear bonus or has his all attention on you when you receive your midyear bonus. And he either hits the tennis court (or whatever court he likes) 7 days a week or hits you 7 days a week.
I guess that's why they invented divorce & annulment. (And for that not-so-sure-they-chose-the-right-one, affairs.) Hehehe.

As of the moment, I, again, contradicted my personal beliefs. I'm in that ideal (but not boring) bond. We've been together for a couple of years and it just feels like we are the ultimate perfect match. He likes to eat, I like to cook. He likes to earn, I like to spend. He likes to make mess, I like to clean. Hahaha. It's not as lame as that, but we do complement each other in everything. I guess you can say I won the lottery. The chances are slim of finding your perfect mate in such a short time, but i did.

It's the best thing that ever happened to me. It's like having all the people you know, from family members, boyfriend, friend, arch enemy, acquaintance, classmate, online buddy, financier, gardener, mechanic, drinking partner, lover, soulmate, all rolled into one. I can fully enjoy my life anywhere as long as i have myHubby by my side. I guess that's whats great about being in committed relationship, you have someone to share your life with, for better or for worse.

I'm not saying my relationship is all clean & perfect. I don't think such thing exists. It's just that I have found someone to share an imperfect relationship with an (im)perfect partner that makes everything perfect! So no matter how difficult our life could be, or how many more "probably & could be the one" for either one of us come into our lives, failing & disappointing each other would be the most difficult decision to make (& we wont) and choosing to stick by each other is just the easiest choice that we'll always make.

me: what's the greatest thing about being married?
myHubby: well i guess the best thing about being married is u feel so accepted and having someone to have even if u have nothing and u have someone to turn to in happy times and in desperate times.

keeping in mind # 1

Every relationship is going to come up against some obstacles. They'll either break it up, or make it stronger. If it ends, it wasn't meant to be. If you push through, the relationship will be better than ever.

Irony

there's nothing scarier than getting what you really, REALLY want...
because then you'd have something really, REALLY wonderful to lose.

True! I am frightened to get the things I want all my life. From a single flavor of ice cream to a lifelong dream of having my own line of clothing. Most of the time I choose a little less than what i truly desire, so that when it doesn't go my way, i won't be crying so much about it. Playing safe -- that's what it is. But life is not as enjoyable as taking risks & getting what you REALLY WANT. I only have one life & it is quite short to make all things i want happen... now. So i have to be brave and just go get it. Go for the Gold! hehehe. Never mind losing it after a while, at least i got a hold of it.
